"Changing Community through Creative Outcry"
The NAN Brick City Artist Collective is a movement powered by the chapter's artist-activist members.

Through public exhibitions featuring Outsider Art, audiences are invited to open their minds about culture, social conditions, politics, and the human condition.

The history of Outsider Art is found through the repressed voices of the Black enslaved, Native Americans, Women, the imprisoned, and economically disadvantaged populations. Due to the lack of resources, unexpected, readily available objects were turned into canvases and art. Many pieces fall into the category of folkloric or primitive art. However, the applied creative genius turned many works into masterpieces of varying genres. Outsider Art is quite popular today as a decided artistic expression.

NAN Brick City Artivist Collective Founder/Director Queen Mother Imakhu, "The goal of our collective is not only to share, perform, and exhibit our art. It's also to provide viable financial gains to each member. I've always understood art to be a business. Our artists are all entrepreneurs. We know our worth, and what we bring to the world. We'll also be providing free community art workshops and programming, as well as beginner art business educational sessions."
