National Action Network's Newark (Brick City) Chapter is here to address the immediate and long term-social needs of our beloved city. Newark resident Rev. Queen Mother Imakhu has been immersed in "The New Ark" since her father, Tommie J. Lloyd, migrated here from South Carolina as a young man. He became the first Black man accepted into the New Jersey Tool & Die Association. He maintained his Newark-based business, Lloyd Mold Polishing Company, for twenty-five years.

As a Newark renter, cultural artist, educator, activist, community organizer, domestic violence survivor, and spiritual leader, Queen Mother Imakhu has come to know the beauty and challenges of living in our vibrant city. A former NAN chapter Vice President, she brings her personal insight, experience, and wealth of knowledge to presiding over this Brick City chapter. She comes from a family of activists, and respected civic, political, and church leaders - many of whom are also Newark residents.

Rev. Queen Mother Imakhu is an ordained Interfaith and Kemetic minister, and enstooled Queen Mother who follows the path of activism and outreach like Ancestor Queen Mother Moore.
